National Assembly Speaker Meets with President of Global Council for Tolerance and Peace

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the President of Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan.


Al-Jarwan informed the National Assembly Speaker about the activities of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, stressing that promotion of tolerance and culture of peace, as well as combating racial and religious discrimination and extremism are its core objectives. The Council HQ is located in Malta, with branches in the Middle-East and North Africa, the Persian Gulf, Africa and Latin America. Since 2017, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace has an International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, boasting 85 member states from around the world. Al-Jarwan briefed the National Assembly Speaker on the plans of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace for the coming period and its activities during the pandemic when, as an act of solidarity, it sent humanitarian aid to the partners who needed it most.

The officials also discussed possible cooperation between the National Assembly and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.
