National Assembly Speaker Meets with Bulgarian President
National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic met today with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, currently in visit to Serbia, to discuss furthering relations between the two countries in many areas such as economy, infrastructure and at the parliamentary level, which the two officials agreed both countries stand ready to do.
Gojkovic urged to improve interparliamentary cooperation and intensify contacts between the working bodies, friendship groups and at the highest parliamentary level. She emphasised the importance of cooperation between committees as regards European integration through the exchange of experiences.
Gojkovic and Plevneliev agreed that it would be very useful to deepen regional cooperation which is a prerequisite for the progress of all the countries in the region.
Plevneliev stressed Bulgaria’s readiness to continue to offer support to Serbia’s Euro-integration efforts, underlining the importance of regional cooperation and collaboration especially in the development of road and energy infrastructure, investment and development of tourism.
The Bulgarian President highlighted the importance of interparliamentary cooperation at all levels for the improvement of overall relations between the two countries.
