Gojkovic thanked Bulgaria for its support of Serbia’s European integration, stressing that the country is dedicated to reform and harmonisation of its legislation with the EU acquis since European integration is its chief foreign policy priority.
Gojkovic urged to improve interparliamentary cooperation and intensify contacts between the working bodies, friendship groups and at the highest parliamentary level. She emphasised the importance of cooperation between committees as regards European integration through the exchange of experiences.
Gojkovic and Plevneliev agreed that it would be very useful to deepen regional cooperation which is a prerequisite for the progress of all the countries in the region.
Plevneliev stressed Bulgaria’s readiness to continue to offer support to Serbia’s Euro-integration efforts, underlining the importance of regional cooperation and collaboration especially in the development of road and energy infrastructure, investment and development of tourism.
The Bulgarian President highlighted the importance of interparliamentary cooperation at all levels for the improvement of overall relations between the two countries.
