National Assembly Speaker Meets with Belgian Ambassador to Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic today received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium Cathy Buggenhout in a farewell visit.

The National Assembly Speaker thanked Ambassador Buggenhout for her cooperation with which she confirmed the good bilateral relations between the two countries and the intensification of political dialogue.

Brnabic stressed that as Speaker of Parliament, she is also committed to intensifying parliamentary dialogue with Belgium, through an exchange of visits at the highest level and between the two parliaments’ Friendship Groups and Committees. She expressed satisfaction with the substantive conversation in her recent meeting with the Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium Peter de Roover during her recent visit to Brussels.

She also emphasised that joining the European Union is our country's strategic commitment and foreign policy priority, and our side’s commitment to implement all necessary reforms for accession to the Union by the end of 2026.
