National Assembly Speaker Meets with Belgian Ambassador

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, met today in Belgrade with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Serbia, Frederik Develter.

As this was Speaker Brnabic's first meeting with Ambassador Develter since he took office few months ago, she wished him good luck, stressing that she hoped for good cooperation.

The National Assembly Speaker added that she expected parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Belgium to expand, and that she was extremely pleased to have had the opportunity to visit Belgium at the end of last year and meet with the President of the Chamber of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium, Peter De Roover. Brnabic reminded that the invitation for a return visit is open and that it would be an exceptional honour for our country.

Brnabic informed Ambassador Develter that the National Assembly has a Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Benelux and that its work can be a step in the right direction in deepening parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Belgium.

The officials also discussed Serbia's European integration and the opening of Cluster 3, as well as the ongoing reforms Serbia is implementing on its European path.
