National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic Receives Czech Ambassador in Farewell Visit

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic received Czech Ambassador Tomas Kuchta in farewell visit.


In the course of the meeting, Speaker Brnabic thanked the Ambassador for his active engagement and work on furthering and strengthening of bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Czech Republic. Speaker Brnabic said she believes the cooperation would be just as successful with his successor and that the goal is to further intensify political dialogue and deepen bilateral relations. "The Czech Republic is an important foreign political partner for our country and we are determined to strengthen our mutually beneficial cooperation and additionally intensify our political dialogue at all levels in the period ahead of us," emphasized Brnabic.

The National Assembly Speaker highlighted the importance of further strengthening parliamentary dialogue and cooperation, announcing the formation of parliamentary friendship groups, including the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Czech Republic. She expressed satisfaction that the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia is active in the current legislature of the Czech Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies.

Speaker Brnabic and Ambassador Kuchta spoke of the importance of the dynamic development of economic cooperation between the two countries in the last few years, characterised by an increasing exchange of goods, trade in services and a growing inflow of Czech investments.

Ambassador Kuchta particularly emphasised the importance of the opening of the "Czech House", which will in future also serve as a meeting place for members of the Czech community and citizens of the Republic of Serbia through the organization of cultural, business and other events.

At the end of the meeting, Speaker Brnabic once again thanked Ambassador Kuchta for his contribution to the strengthening of relations between the two countries and wished him success in his future professional and personal endeavours.
