National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic Meets with French Senator Olivier Cadic

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, met today with French Senator Olivier Cadic, Vice President of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Committee in the French Senate.

In the course of the conversation, the officials highlighted the exceptional cooperation between Serbia and France, confirming the long tradition of bilateral relations between the two countries and pointing out that this year marks the 185th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

This cooperation was further strengthened by the strategic partnership and numerous bilateral agreements signed during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Belgrade. These agreements cover key areas such as agriculture, energy, environmental protection, science and defence and set the groundwork for the further development of relations.

Senator Cadic particularly emphasised France's strong support for Serbia's European path, emphasising Paris' readiness to help Serbia open new clusters within the negotiation process with the European Union.

Speaker Brnabic expressed her gratitude for France's support in this process and emphasised the importance of French investments in priority projects in Serbia, which additionally contribute to the economic development and connection between the two countries.

The officials agreed that continued cooperation between Serbia and France will contribute to the stability and prosperity of the entire region.
