National Assembly Representatives at PABSEC Plenary Session
The standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) took part in the organisation’s 46th Plenary Session, in Bucharest, Romania, 25-27 November.
The delegation was headed by National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Igor Becic, and comprised MPs Katarina Rakic and Miletic Mihajlovic.
The PABSEC plenary was also attended by the standing delegations of the parliaments of the Russian Federation, Greece, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Albania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Turkey, Georgia and Romania, and observes – France and Morocco, Georgian Development Fund, Marmara Foundation, Turkish Economic Council, and guests from international organisations - Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Ukraine, Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, Asian Parliamentary Assembly and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of the Mediterranean. The session was also attended by the highest Romanian dignitaries - President of the Romanian Senate Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu, Foreign Minister Lazăr Comănescu, and representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as the Serbian Ambassador in Bucharest Branko Brankovic and economic adviser at the Embassy Dusan Zarubica.
The topic of the 46th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was “Implementation of the sustainable development objectives in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation region and parliamentary engagement.” In the course of the plenary the Assembly adopted the reports and recommendations of the three PABSEC standing committees and a Declaration condemning the terrorist attacks. PABSEC Vice President Igor Becic chaired the plenary session on the first day when the heads of the national delegations addressed the Assembly. On the behalf of Serbia, the Assembly was addressed by MP Katarina Rakic.
National Assembly MP Katarina Rakic was elected rapporteur of the Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee.
At the 46th Plenary Session, the PABSEC also elected a Deputy Secretary General for Financial Issues, Turkish delegation member Fuat Küçükaydin, and accepted the 2016 Action Plan, according to which the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia is to host the 48th PABSEC General Assembly in Belgrade, 29 November – 1 December 2016, as part of its presidency of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and the PABSEC Parliamentary Assembly.
