Today, at the National Assembly House, the Secretary of the National Assembly, Veljko Odalovic presented the students – interns with diplomas for their successful participation in the 2007/2008 Parliamentary Student Internship programme. The programme was realised by the Human Resources Department in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and it involved 20 students from various faculties of arts.

Greeting the students, Veljko Odalovic stressed that this was an opportunity for them to gain hands-on knowledge of the organisation and manner of operations of the National Assembly, and above all its working bodies and deputy groups. He expressed his belief that in the past year, the students obtained skills and experiences from the National Assembly employees, necessary to them if they wish to take on similar jobs.

Secretary Odalovic also talked of the need to improve the functioning of the National Assembly, which will become possible after the new National Assembly Act and Rules of Procedure are adopted. He also stressed that the Serbian Parliament has serious and comprehensive work to do in the upcoming period.

The students were also addressed by the representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Conrad Adenauer Foundation who wished them success in their future professional life.
