110 years ago, on 27 August 2017, king Petar I Karadjordjevic laid the cornerstone of the National Assembly House. It took nearly three decades to complete the edifice of the National Assembly House during the tumultuous times of the early 20th century, and the first session was held in it on 20 October 1036. The construction began with the blueprints of architect Jovan Ilkic, and was completed following the drafts of Russian architect Nikolay Krasnov.
