National Assembly Delegation to Take Part in 142nd IPU Assembly

Mladen Grujic Jelena Mijatovic and Dr Milorad Mijatovic, members of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, will take part in the meeting of the Governing Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on 24 and 25 May 2021, held under the auspices of the 142nd IPU Assembly, from 24 to May 27 2021.

In addition to reviewing the annual activity reports, members of the Governing Council will vote on candidates for vacancies within the IPU and decide on issues related to membership in this, the largest international parliamentary institution. Over the next two days, parliamentarians from more than 140 member states will also consider the reports of IPU committees and other bodies, as well as proposals for the adoption of the new IPU Strategy (2022 – 2026).

The National Assembly Speaker and Head of the delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union Ivica Dacic will address the IPU at the general debate of the IPU Assembly: "Overcoming the pandemic today and building a better tomorrow: the role of parliamentarians", on 26 May 2021. The next day, the IPU will consider the resolutions of the Committee on Peace and International Security and the Committee on Sustainable Development.
