The Conference, gathering more than 40 participants from the Network of Parliamentary Committees on Finance, Economy and European Integration of Western Balkan Countries, focused on the competitiveness policy in the region and intensifying the ties between parliamentary committees to enable the exchange of best practices, information and to improve standards, procedures and legislation related to the economic and social framework, Euro-integration process and implementation of social reform.
The National Assembly delegation shared an initiative with the colleagues from the region to boost the Network’s operation, strengthen efficiency and the specific results the Network should achieve in each of its member states and their parliaments. At the Conference, the participants agreed to set up operative bodies for the Network charged with coordination, to realise the next four regional conferences, as well as several bilateral and multilateral meetings.
After it takes the chairmanship of the Network from Macedonia, Serbia will organise a regional conference on how to attract direct foreign investment and about state aid in March next year.
