National Assembly Delegation at 100th Anniversary of Battle of Kumanovo
A delegation of the National Assembly commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Kumanovo by laying a wreath at the monument to Serbian soldiers at Zebrnjak near Kumanovo, Macedonia.
The ribbon on the laurel wreath laid at the monument to Serbian soldiers, on the behalf of the National Assembly, by Aleksandar Cotric, Chairman of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, and Milorad Stosic, Committee member, reads “Glory to the heroes of the Battle of Kumanovo”.
The Battle of Kumanovo was a big victory for the Serbian military, pivotal for the outcome of the First Balkan War, which led to the liberation from Turkish occupation of large areas populated for centuries by oppressed and disempowered Serbian and other Christian population, said MP Aleksandar Cotric at the celebration of the major anniversary.
In the course of their stay in Macedonia, MPs Aleksandar Cotric and Milorad Stosic met with the President of the Democratic Party of Serbs in Macedonia and MP at the Macedonian Parliament Ivan Stoilkovic, Deputy Minister of Culture in the Macedonian Government Dragan Nedeljkovic and Mayor of Staro Nagoricane Miodrag Jovanovic, to discuss the types of cooperation between the National Assembly and Serbian organisations in Macedonia.
