National Assembly Delegation Meets with Iranian Parliament Speaker

The Speaker of Iranian Parliament Dr Ali Larijani reaffirmed Iran’s support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and non-recognition of the so-called state of Kosovo.

In meeting with the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia visiting Iran, headed by Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic, the officials highlighted the two countries’ excellent relations, especially between the parliaments. Both sides urged to advance economic cooperation and Larijani proposed setting up a joint working group to seek the best modalities for it. They agreed to continue to support one another in international organizations in the realization of goals of interests for both countries.

At the Parliament, the National Assembly delegation, comprising Jasmina Karanac, head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Iran, Nikola Savic, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and Vladimir Djukanovic and Jasmina Obradovic, members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Iran, also met with of the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security Dr Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh and the head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia Parvaneh Salashouri, and was received by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Morteza Sarmadi.
