National Assembly’s Standing Delegation Takes Part in NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s Annual Session
The Standing Delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is taking part in the 57th annual session of the international organisation in Bucharest, from 7 to 10 October 2011.
In the course of the annual session the NATO PA reviewed and accepted all of the Serbian delegation’s amendments to the report of the Committee on Economics and Security “The Balkan Economies: Regional Roadblocks, European Distractions and Global Crisis”. The amendments pertained to referring to the status of Kosovo-Metohija as an independent state.
The National Assembly’s delegation also submitted amendments to the report of the Committee on Economics and Security “NATO Operations under a New Strategic Concept and the EU as an Operational Partner”. The changes the Serbian delegation requested as regards the KFOR operation in Kosovo-Metohija shall be incorporated into the final version of the Report.
In addition, the Head of the NARS Standing Delegation to the NATO PA, Marko Djurisic and President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Dr Karl A. Lamers met on the margins of the annual session, which resulted in a joint statement on the situation in Kosovo-Metohija.
The Standing Delegation comprises: delegation Head Marko Djurisic and delegation members Edip Serifov, Konstantin Samofalov and Igor Becic.
