NARS Speaker Receives Chinese Delegation

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic received a Chinese delegation headed by He Guoqiang, permanent member the Politburo of the Chinese CCCP and secretary of the Commission for Discipline and Inspection, at the National Assembly House.

Djukic Dejanovic stressed that Serbia and China share a true friendship resulting in excellent relations between the two countries in both the political and economic sphere, with a tendency of further growth. The NARS Speaker stated that China as an economic, political and military colossus plays a very important role in international relations. Considering the fact that China is also a permanent member of the UNSC than its role becomes even more significant, as does its responsibility to keep the peace, international security and progress of the international community as a whole, said Djukic Dejanovic.

The NARS Speaker thanked the Chinese government and people for their support of Serbia’s struggle to keep its territorial integrity within the borders recognised as a UN member state and repeated that Serbia fully supports the Chinese principle of “one China”.

He Guoqiang, permanent member the Politburo of the Chinese CCCP and secretary of the Commission for Discipline and Inspection, conveyed the greetings of the Chairman of China's National People's Congress Wu Bangguo to NARS Speaker Slavica Djukic Dejanovic.

He Guoqiang was interested in economic cooperation. To that end, he said that a group of businessmen arrived in Serbia with the Chinese delegation who will tomorrow meet with Serbian businessmen. He stressed that the two countries’ traditional cooperation dates back to the time of SFRY where “the then president Tito played a big and positive role” and repeated that Belgrade was the host of the First Summit of Non-Aligned Countries, mentioning Yugoslavia’s important role in the movement.
