Mirkovic Receives Delegation of Chinese Guangdong Province

MP Aleksandar Mirkovic received a delegation of the Chinese Guangdong Province at the National Assembly, to discuss deepening economic, cultural and educational cooperation both between the two countries and at the level of regions and local self-governments.

The officials deemed that, despite the geographical distance, Serbia and China share a steel friendship and closeness between the two peoples, especially stressing the importance of the firm ties and regular meetings of the two presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping.

They agreed that the Belt and Road Initiative adds to the economic cooperation and cultural exchange between Serbia and China.

Aleksandar Mirkovic thanked China for its principled position on the Kosovo-Metohija issue and for respecting Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, adding that Serbia supports the “One China” policy.

He also stressed that education, culture and sport are areas where the people of the two countries could best learn about one another and come closer together, agreeing with the guests that there is room within the Belt and Road Initiative to deepen cooperation in these areas.
