Members of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Japan Meet with Japanese Ambassador to Serbia

The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Japan, Aleksandra Djurovic, and the members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, met yesterday, at the National Assembly House, with the Japanese Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Masafumi Kuroki.

They agreed that meetings between the parliamentary friendship groups at the Serbian and Japanese parliaments could contribute to the improvement of overall bilateral relations between the two countries and deepen the traditionally good relations between the two nations.
The Head of the Friendship Group, Aleksandra Djurovic, said that Japan is very popular with the Serbian people and thanked Japan for its donations to Serbia, especially those related to healthcare, medical diagnostics and the reconstruction of pre-school institutions and schools. Djurovic informed Ambassador Kuroki about the Women’s Parliamentary Network set up at the National Assembly, which comprises all the women MPs and works on improving the health and education of women, women entrepreneurship and combating domestic violence. Djurovic also expressed her expectation that Japan would continue to support Serbia’s efforts in the sphere of healthcare for women, and that it would invest into Serbia, since the Serbian Government’s decisive fight against crime and corruption enables the creation of a safe environment for foreign investment.
Ambassador Kuroki endorsed Serbia’s economic and social development and the implementation of reforms, commending the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina. He also stressed that Japan would continue with its donations to Serbia, adding that he would urge Japanese companies to invest more into Serbia.
