Meeting of Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) Serbia
At the meeting of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) Serbia, the members elected the Executive Board Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and Secretary to replace the ones whose term of office had expired.
Dubravka Filipovski was unanimously elected Executive Board Chairperson, Milan Lapcevic Executive Board Deputy Chairperson, and Elvira Kovacs GOPAC Serbia Executive Board Secretary.
At the proposal of GOPAC Serbia Executive Board Chairperson Dubravka Filipovski the members of the national branch adopted the amendment of Article 6 of the GOPAC Serbia Charter which amends the manner in which the GOPAC national branch members make decisions in line with the informal character of the group.
The members also adopted the amendments and modifications to the GOPAC Serbia work programme for the period 2016-2017. The amended Programme includes the promotion of sustainable development goals unanimously adopted by the United Nations member states in 2015. The 17 sustainable development goals and 169 targets cover the three pillars of sustainability – economy, society and the environment. In view of this GOPAC Serbia National Branch is to endorse the regional conference organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 2018, where it will present its results, as well as plans for the future.
GOPAC Serbia National Branch is supported by project “Strengthening the Oversight Role and Transparency of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia”, conducted by UNDP and the National Assembly, with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
