MP Ana Ivanovic Takes Part in IAO International Secretariat Regular Spring Session

Member of the standing delegation to the IAO, MP Ana Ivanovic, took part in the regular spring session of the International Secretariat of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy (IAO), held in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, from 13 to 17 March 2025.

During the session, held in the Egyptian House of Representatives, representatives of parliaments of 14 countries held constructive discussions on strengthening mutual cooperation and preserving Orthodox values.

The official session was also attended by the Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament, while the IAO Secretary General Dr Maximos Charakopoulos, emphasised the importance of the organisation's activities to date and presented plans for the coming period.

A special part of the visit was a meeting with His Holiness the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of All Africa, Head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, Tawadros II. The meeting focused on to the preservation and promotion of Christian values in contemporary society, as well as strengthening ties between Orthodox communities in order to preserve peace and overcome conflicts.
