Introductory Seminar for MPs

At the initiative of National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic and in the organisation of the National Assembly, OSCE Mission to Serbia and the Westminster Foundation, an introductory seminar was held on 30 June and 1 July 2024 in Sabac, for the MPs serving their first term of office in the National Assembly,.


The seminar was opened by National Assembly Deputy Secretary General Vladimir Dimitrijevic, Head of the Democratic Governance Department of the OSCE Mission in Serbia Agnes Bodens and Deputy Head of the British Embassy in Belgrade Dominic Otway.

During the two-day seminar, the MPs had the opportunity to learn more about the legislative, control and representative functions of the National Assembly, the role of MPs, as well as the organisation of the National Assembly Support Service. There were talks about parliamentary integrity, parliamentary diplomacy, informal parliamentary networks, as well as the relationship with independent state bodies and their role in exercising the Parliament's control function.

The lecturers at the seminar were current and previous MPs with rich experience in parliamentary work, university professors, as well as employees of the National Assembly Support Service.

  • 13.30 - press conference of the Ecological Uprising Parliamentary Group (National Assembly House, 13 Nikola Pasic Square, Central Hall)
