On the sideliens of the meeting of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe held on Crete, the Serbian delegation met with representatives of various countries to deepen cooperation and draw attention to key national interests.

The delegation consists of Biljana Pantic Pilja, Dunja Simonovic Bratic, Aleksandar Mirkovic and Elvira Kovacs.

In this context, discussions were held with prominent members of national delegations, including Andrej Hunko (Germany), George Loucaides (Cyprus), Antonio Gutiérrez Limones (Spain), Despina Chatzivassiliou-Tsovilis (PACE Secretary General) and Theodoros Rousopoulos (PACE President). In open and constructive discussions, views were exchanged on current challenges in Europe, as well as the importance of upholding international law.

The conversation with the Head of the Spanish delegation was of particular importance, during which the officials discussed ways to further improve the already good and traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Spain. On the occasion, the Serbian delegation informed the Spanish representative about the latest developments in Kosovo-Metohija, with a special emphasis on the security situation and the violation of the rights of the Serbian people.

The Head of the Spanish delegation confirmed his country's firm and principled position, promising further engagement in protecting international law and the territorial integrity of Serbia. He stressed that Spain remains consistent with its positions and will not recognise the unilaterally declared independence of so-called "Kosovo".
