Institute for Serbian Culture Pristina - Leposavic Donates Books to National Assembly

Representatives of the Institute for Serbian Culture Pristina - Leposavic visited the National Assembly today and presented the Library with a donation of 25 books published by the Institute.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic thanked them for the donation, saying that the donated books, which mostly deal with the subject of Kosovo-Metohija and our people, will join the impressive collection of the Library of the National Assembly, which has more than 60,000 books. She said that from today those books will be available to all future generations and that they will be able to get to know the history of our Kosovo-Metohija and the life of our people in that part of Serbia.

Brnabic stressed that it is very important for the National Assembly to establish closer cooperation with the Institute for Serbian Culture in Pristina - Leposavic, in order to support its work, as well as allow us all to learn much more about Serbian culture and the Serbian people in Kosovo-Metohija.

Director of the Institute Prof. Dr Dragan Tancic said that this was the only multidisciplinary scientific institute in Kosovo-Metohija and as such is of great importance for the preservation of the Serbian cultural heritage on its territory. He said he hoped that, despite the difficult and complex circumstances, the Institute will survive, pointing out that the Government of Serbia and the President of the Republic provide great support in its work.
