Information on the Activities of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the Year 2001

In 2001, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held 15 sessions lasting a total of 95 days:One constitutive session lasting one day; Six sessions of the regular sitting, lasting a total of 63 days, and Eight sessions of the extraordinary sitting, lasting a total of 31 days.


In 2001, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held 15 sessions lasting a total of 95 days:

  • One constitutive session lasting one day;
  • Six sessions of the regular sitting, lasting a total of 63 days, and
  • Eight sessions of the extraordinary sitting, lasting a total of 31 days.

Four hundred ninety-eight bills were submitted to the National Assembly, of which 48 were submitted under urgent procedure:

  • Authorised submitters proposed 280 bills, and
  • Unauthorised submitters proposed 218 bills.

Of the authorised submitters, the following proposed motions:

  • Government of the Republic of Serbia - 75 bills, of which seven were withdrawn;
  • National Assembly Committees - 66 bills, of which five were withdrawn;
  • Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia - 85 bills, of which six were withdrawn;
  • Other submitters (Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Republic Public Prosecutor, Constitutional Court of Serbia etc) - 54 bills, three of which were withdrawn.

Three thousand seven hundred forty-six amendments were submitted to these bills.

In 2001, the National Assembly considered 205 bills, of which 37 under urgent procedure. Bills submitted by the following were considered:

  • Government of the Republic of Serbia - 50 bills;
  • National Assembly Committees - 59 bills;
  • Deputies of the National Assembly - 58 bills, and
  • Other submitters - 38 bills.

The National Assembly adopted 129 acts in 2001, of which 34 under urgent procedure. 48 laws and 81 decisions and other acts were passed.

In 2001, Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia posed 49 Deputies' Questions to the Government of the Republic of Serbia and its ministries. The Government and ministers answered 35 Deputies' Questions
