In the course of the meeting, the officials discussed the potentials to improve cooperation between Serbia and Slovakia, which could be greatly aided by the cooperation among the MPs within the two parliaments’ respective friendship groups.
Nikolic stressed that the Friendship Group with Slovakia boasts 24 members, comprising representatives of all the political parties at the Parliament. He suggested that the cooperation between the two states could be improved both via economic projects and more intensive communication between Serbian and Slovak cities. Nikolic also thanked ambassador Varso for the support Slovakia lends Serbia in its European integration process, as well as its principled position on Kosovo-Metohija.
Ambassador Varso expressed his belief that the good bilateral cooperation between the two states would continue and that the two friendship groups would initiate more intensive cooperation in all spheres.
The officials agreed that priority topics of future meetings between the two friendship groups should be Serbia’s European integration, where Slovakia can offer its expert assistance, improving economic cooperation and tending and deepening the relations between the two countries and representatives of the national communities of the Slovak and Serbian people.
