Vesna Markovic said that Germany’s assistance is of vital importance for Serbia and its EU accession efforts. She stressed that the question of EU enlargement is important both for the Western Balkans and the stability of the EU itself. Economic cooperation with Germany is also very important for Serbia seeing how German companies employ 40,000 people in the country and with Germany being one of the three biggest investors in Serbia, Markovic added.

The members of the German delegation informed the MPs of the current political situation in Germany and the challenges in the EU with a special focus on the migrant crisis.
