Head of PFG with China Meets with Head of Chinese Embassy Political Department

The Head of the PFG with China Marina Ragus met today with the Head of the Political Department at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Serbia Xie Bo to discuss the intensification of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, especially at the level of parliamentary friendship groups.

Ragus pointed out that the intention of the National Assembly’s PFG with China is to lay the foundations for the coming years so that each subsequent friendship group can improve cooperation and develop the steely friendship between two peoples and two states. She said that the members of the PFG with China are very interested in improving cooperation in a variety fields, from scientific to cultural, with a special emphasis on getting to know old Chinese traditions.

The Head of the Political Department at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Serbia Xie Bo informed the Head of the PFG with China Marina Ragus about the formation of the PFG with Serbia in China’s National People's Congress, gathering members of various committees, a clear sign of the importance the Chinese colleagues attach to cooperation with the National Assembly’s PFG.

The meeting also touched on the further implementation of the PFG with China and the Chinese Embassy’s joint activities, concerning the tour of Chinese investments in Serbia, as well as potential mutual parliamentary visits. The officials also discussed current political issues and events, with special focus on the situation in Kosovo-Metohija.
