The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic will be visiting Israel on 13 and 14 February, at the invitation of the Speaker of the Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, which will be the first bilateral visit by a Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia since the re-establishment of diplomatic relations 26 years ago.
Gojkovic will first pay respects to the victims of the Holocaust by laying a wreath at the remembrance centre Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.
On Wednesday, 14 February, Gojkovic will be meeting with her host, Parliament Speaker Edelstein, as well as opposition leader Isaac Herzog and the Chairman of the Yesh Atid Party Yair Lapid.
The National Assembly Speaker will also take part in the panel discussion of Knesset’s Committee on the Status of Women and Gender Equality and the Committee for the Rights of the Child on gender equality and the rights of women and children.
