Gojkovic to Sign Agreement on Organization of IPU Belgrade Session in Geneva

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic will take part in the first meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva, 8-9 February.


On the occasion, there the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will sign an Agreement on the 141st IPU Assembly, to be held in Belgrade, 13-17 October.

The Belgrade session will be held on the 130th anniversary of this oldest and biggest international parliamentary organization, comprising the parliaments of 178 states, which Serbia has been member of almost since its foundation.

This will be Belgrade hosting an IPU session after 56 years.

The Belgrade session is expected to gather high-level parliamentary delegations from all over the world.
