Gojkovic at Danube Region Parliamentary Conference

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic will take part in the 5th Conference of Danube Region Parliaments in Budapest, 4-5 October.


The Conference will also be attended by parliamentary delegations from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and the host, Hungary.

The parliamentary representatives from the Danube Region will discuss the role parliaments play in combating climate change and creating the conditions necessary for sustainable agricultural production and sustainable water management in view of the parliaments’ legislative role and adoption of the budget.

The parliamentarians will be focusing on the significant agricultural challenges caused by the increasingly extreme weather induced by climate change in view of the fact that climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time, and at the same time of the countries in the region.

In the course of the Conference Gojkovic will also have a series of bilateral meetings with regional heads of parliament and attend the closing ceremony of the “Month of Serbian Culture”.
