Gojkovic, Myasnikovich and Andreichenko signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Belarus Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives. The officials agreed that there is room to further the traditionally good relations between the two countries and people at the parliamentary level as well as in other areas such as economy.

They opined that the visit of the National Assembly Speaker, first at the level of parliament speakers in 15 years, would open a new stage of development in the relations between the two parliaments and countries.

In view of the further development of friendly relations founded in the two nations’ historical and cultural ties, the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation is a good basis for furthering interparliamentary cooperation through parliamentary mechanisms set in place to prompt cooperation between the two countries in the spheres of economy, trade, investment, healthcare, education, etc.

Gojkovic also met with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Gojkovic and Lukashenko agreed it was important to boost economic cooperation and trade.

Gojkovic thanked Belarus for its principled position on Kosovo-Metohija and support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina which Serbia is committed to.
