Gojkovic Talks to Algerian President
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic, currently in official visit to Algeria, met with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra and Minister of Relations with the Parliament Tahar Khaoua. The officials agreed that both countries are committed to intensifying political, economic and cultural cooperation.
Bouteflika pointed out that economic cooperation should be improved, that Serbian companies have an excellent reputation in Algeria won during the time their cooperation was closer, which is a good basis for their return, which Algeria is expecting because of the need to cooperate with Serbia on the political, economic and cultural level.
Bouteflika stressed that the National Assembly Speaker’s visit to Algeria has “opened the door” to an improvement of the relations between the two countries.
Gojkovic also met with Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra who said that Serbia and Algeria should build a common future on the decades-long history of good relations, while with Minister of Relations with the Parliament Tahar Khaoua she discussed coordination and cooperation in the relations between the government and parliament.
Gojkovic had also met with the Speaker of the Algerian People’s National Assembly Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa, President of the Algerian National Council Abdelkader Bensalah and Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.
