In the course of the meeting, Iohannis emphasised Romania’s strong support of Serbia’s Euro-integration, and the National Assembly Speaker thanked him for the support of the country’s path to the EU, stressing that Serbia is determined to achieve further progress in the process.

Gojkovic briefed Iohannis on the National Assembly’s activities relating to the reform processes and bringing Serbia closer to the EU, as well as in the sphere of regional cooperation, which the country is deeply dedicated to.

Gojkovic and Iohannis agreed that the relations between Serbia and Romania are good, but that there is still room to develop said cooperation further.

The President of Romania said it would be particularly beneficial to boost cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy and infrastructure.
