Fourteenth Sitting of the Education Committee
At the fourteenth sitting, held on 15 July 2009, the Education Committee discussed the Bill on the Bases of the System of Education and Upbringing and the Bill on Textbooks and Other Teaching Aids, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Dr Zoran Sami, and attended by Dr Zarko Obradovic, Minister of Education, and associates, as well as representatives of the National Education Council, Serbian Association of Publishers of Textbooks and Teaching Aids and Ombudsman.
Following the discussion, the Committee decided, by a majority of votes, to endorse the Bill on the Bases of the System of Education and Upbringing in principle. Deputy Dr Zoran Sami, Committee Chairman, reserved his opinion. The Committee members went on to accept the Bill on Textbooks and Other Teaching Aids in principle, by a majority of votes.
