Forty-First Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues

On 14 November, the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues held its forty-first sitting, chaired by Committee Chairman Meho Omerovic.


The sitting was attended by Assistant Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Miro Cavaljuga and associates.

The Committee members considered the Bill amending and modifying the Law on State and Other Holidays in the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, in principle. On the behalf of the submitter, Assistant Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Miro Cavaljuga briefly outlined the proposed amendments and modifications which propose that the established state holiday of the Republic of Serbia Sretenje – Serbian Statehood Day be expanded to cover both 15 and 16 February. It was also proposed to commemorate 11 November, World War One Armistice Day, in memory of all the innocent victims of the years 1914-1918. According to the Bill, the Republic of Serbia would also observe the Memorial Day for Serbian victims of World War Two as a working holiday, in memory of 21 October 1941. The Committee unanimously accepted the Bill amending and modifying the Law on State and Other Holidays in the Republic of Serbia, in principle.

The Committee members went on to debate the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Temporary Employment of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Serbia and accepted it unanimously.
