Forty-Eighth Sitting of the Industry Committee
At the sitting held on 21 October the Industry Committee considered, in principle, the Bill on Mining and Geological Research, submitted by the Government.
Representative of the submitter, State Secretary at the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Zlatko Dragosavljevic said that the Bill regulated two areas scientifically and technologically stemming one from the other, the area of mining and area of geological research. The Bill regulates mineral policy measures and activities and the manner it is pursued, it stipulates the adoption of a Republic of Serbia Mineral Resource Management Strategy, regulates the conditions and manner of geological research and geological environment research in line with European directives from the sphere of mining and geology, stressed Dragosavljevic.
The Committee members requested additional information from the Ministry representative relating to the issuance of permits for applied geological research and licenses for mineral resource exploitation. They were informed on envisaged fees for the bearers of mineral and geothermal resource exploitation, as well as qualifications required of mining inspectors.
The Industry Committee members adopted the Bill on Mining and Geological Research, in principle, by a majority of votes.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milorad Buha.
