Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Meets with Cypriot Ambassador to Serbia

Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic met today with the Cypriot Ambassador in Belgrade H.E. Constantinos Eliades.

Ambassador Eliades reaffirmed Cyprus’ strong support for Serbia’s EU accession, as well as for its territorial integrity and sovereignty. He underlined Cyprus’ principled support of international law and UNSC Resolution 1244. Ambassador Eliades also informed the Committee Chairman about the course of the talks about the Cypriot problem currently conducted in Switzerland under the auspices of the UN.

Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic thanked the Ambassador for Cyprus’ support of Serbia in international organisations, emphasising the support for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus and for finding a solution between the two communities on the island through political dialogue. Prof. Dr Obradovic urged for an intensification of cooperation between the two parliaments’ foreign affairs committees and delegations in international parliamentary institutions.
