Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Meets with Bulgarian Ambassador to Serbia

The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic met today, at the National Assembly House, with Bulgarian Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Radko Vlaykov to discuss the coming Interparliamentary Conference to be held in Sofia, 15-17 February, under the auspices of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU.


The Interparliamentary Conference for the Common Foreign and Security Policy and Common Security and Defence Policy will be attended by the chairs of the foreign affairs and defence and security committees of EU member and candidate states.

Ambassador Vlaykov presented the EU activity programme for the duration of the Bulgarian Presidency stressing that the Western Balkans’ European prospects are one of its priorities. He said that Serbia is the key to stability in the Western Balkans and Bulgaria will continue to support it on the path to EU accession.

The Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman said he greatly appreciates the friendly relations between Serbia and Bulgaria, adding that an improvement of interparliamentary cooperation is of paramount importance for the advancement of overall relations between the two states.
