First Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2019

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the First Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2019, for Tuesday, 1 October, starting at 10 am.


The First Regular Session was opened to the sounds of the national anthem of the Republic of Serbia performed by the Serbian Army Choir.

Before commencing the proceedings, the heads i.e. authorised representatives of the parliamentary groups, MPs Djordje Milicevic, Djordje Vukadinovic, Milorad Mircic, Nemanja Radojevic, Marijan Risticevic and Aleksandar Markovic requested information and explanations in line with article 287 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.

The National Assembly noted the termination of the term of office of MP Miroslav Lazanski.

The National Assembly proceeded to ascertain the following agenda:

  1. Commissioner for Protection of Equality 2018 Regular Annual Report, submitted by the Commissioner for Protection of Equality, accompanied by the Conclusion Proposal of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality and
  2. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members of the Commission to Investigate the Consequences of the NATO 1999 Bombing on the Health of the Citizens of Serbia, as well as the Environment, with a Special Focus on the Impact of the Depleted Uranium Projectiles, submitted by MP Dr. Sci.med. Darko Laketic.
The National Assembly then commenced and concluded a single debate on item 1 on the agenda, presented by Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic and Chairperson of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Jasmina Karanac as representatives of the submitter.

The National Assembly also completed a single debate on item 2 on the agenda, presented by MP Dr. Sci.med. Darko Laketic.

As the National Assembly had completed a debate on both items on the agenda, the Chair, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Veroljub Arsic set Wednesday, 2 October, as Voting Day on all the items on the agenda of the First Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2019, starting at 9.45 am.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 1 October, the National Assembly accepted the Commissioner for Protection of Equality 2018 Regular Annual Report, submitted by the Commissioner for Protection of Equality, accompanied by the Conclusion Proposal of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality and the Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members of the Commission to Investigate the Consequences of the NATO 1999 Bombing on the Health of the Citizens of Serbia, as well as the Environment, with a Special Focus on the Impact of the Depleted Uranium Projectiles, submitted by MP Dr. Sci.med. Darko Laketic.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic concluded the First Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2019.
