The meeting was opened by the Chairperson of the Serbian Parliamentary Energy Policy Forum Prof. Dr Aleksandra Tomic who said that it was an excellent opportunity to exchange information concerning agriculture from the aspect of energy, hoping that everyone would contribute to the amendments and modifications of the Law on Agricultural Land within their own area of expertise and enable the Serbian economy to use before unutilized potentials.

The participants were also addressed by the Chairman of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee Marijan Risticevic who said that the meeting should provide some constructive amendments so that their inclusion in the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Agricultural Land could improve it energy-wise.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr Dragan Glamocic, advisor to the Prime Minister. He said that this was one of the most important agricultural laws the purpose of which is to boost the transparency of land lease and with it suppress corruption and usurpation.

After the introductory speeches, Stela Strsoglavac of the Serbian Sustainable Development Network had a presentation entitled the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and Serbia’s obligations relating to trade in agricultural land, which was in turn followed by a discussion.

In addition to the Chairperson of the Serbian Parliamentary Energy Policy Forum, the meeting was also attended by Forum members Zoran Babic, Vera Paunovic, Milos Tosanic, Ivan Jovanovic, Goran Ciric, Chairman and members of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee Marijan Risticevic, Vladan Milosevic, Dejan Nektarijevic, Zoran Antic, Miodrag Nikolic, Zarko Bogatinovic, Milija Miletic, Nadica Nikolic Tanasijevic, Velimir Stanojevic, Arpad Fremond, Milan Kovacevic, Sabina Dazdarevic and Head of the Directorate for Agricultural Land Dragana Godjevac.
