Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Committee Chairman Meets with Ombudsman
The Chairman of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Haji Milorad Stosic met today in the National Assembly House with the Ombudsman, MA Zoran Pasalic.
Stosic informed the Ombudsman about the Committee's competences and scope of work, and the officials expressed their willingness to intensify cooperation within their competences, with the aim of implementing projects that would improve the position of the most socially vulnerable groups.
The discussion focused on ideas for projects to support older women living in rural areas, as well as families with children. There was talk of incentives that would motivate young people to get married, as well as support for marriage as an institution and the foundation on which the pro birth rate policy is based.
The Committee Chairman also informed Pasalic about the implemented activities aimed at supporting the oldest part of the population, among them the exhibition "The Third Age, Age of Creation", held in the National Assembly House, which exhibited the works of art created by the oldest citizens of the city of Nis.
The meeting was also attended by Committee member Marko Milosevic, who is also a member of the Committee’s Group for Civic Petitions and Complaints.
