Fifteenth Sitting of the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction

The Committee on Urban Planning and Construction held its fifteenth sitting on 7 October 2011. The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Jovan Nesovic, and attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning.

The Committee members considered the Bill amending and modifying the Republic of Serbia 2011 Budget Law, section 23 – Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning.

This year’s projects of the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning are Support Programme for the construction industry in economic crisis conditions and Social Housing Programme. The Ministry representative said that 249 projects were approved this year, 110 for Novi Sad, 11 for Belgrade and 128 for central Serbia. According to the Bill amending and modifying this year’s Budget Law the funds allocated for the realisation of the Social Housing Programme and construction of the complex on the Stepa Stepanovic site would be lowered by 500 million RSD each. The representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning opined that it would have been useful for the realisation of these and other projects that no fund cuts had been planned.

In the continuation, the Committee members wanted to know whether the planned projects would be realised by the end of the year, how many Serbian municipalities would have a completed spatial plan by the end of the year, and whether the Ministry would be able to provide additional financial assistance for the realisation of projects in less developed Serbian municipalities.
