Eighth Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee

At the sittings held on 20 May 2021, the Security Services Control Committee adopted the Security Services Control Committee Report on supervisions of security services’ activities conducted in 2022.

In the conclusion of the Report, the Committee welcomed the positive assessments of the legality and regularity of the work of the Ministry of Defence security services presented for the reporting period by the Ministry of Defence Services Inspector General.

The Committee members noted that the past practice of exceptionally good cooperation with the Inspector General proved to be mutually beneficial and that this cooperation will continue in the future, especially in the matter of monitoring the legality of the application of special procedures and measures for secret data collection.

The Committee particularly emphasised the importance of continuous improvement of mutual cooperation between the security services, as well as the improvement of cooperation with other state bodies and institutions of the Republic of Serbia so as to functionally and operationally connect for the purpose of realising goals and tasks prescribed by law.

The Committee members were unanimous in their assessment that the development and improvement of cooperation with foreign partner services contributes to the timely detection of risks to the security of the Republic of Serbia and the timely undertaking of effective measures to eliminate them.

The session was chaired over by Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Aleksandar Mirkovic, Nevena Djuric, Marinika Tepic, Vladimir Gajic, Aleksandar Markovic and Ugljesa Markovic.
