Eighth Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 1 November 2024, the members of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee completed a joint debate on the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Incentives in Agriculture and Rural Development, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Recognition of Agricultural Plant Varieties, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Reproductive Material of Forest Trees, all submitted by the Government, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the period 1 July – 30 September 2024.

The bills and the Activity Information were presented by Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Martinovic who said that the amendments and modifications to the Law on Incentives in Agriculture and Rural Development allow the person who had exercised their right to incentives for quality breeding milk and fattening cows in 2024, to exercise the right to additional funds for quality first breeders, and it was proposed that the recourse funds for certified seed be 17,000 RSD per hectare. The right to recourse funds would be available to organic producers as well. The amendments and modifications to the Law on Recognition of Agricultural Plant Varieties and the Law on Reproductive Material of Forest Trees hamonise said laws with EU council directives, said Martinovic. The Minister also gave a brief presentation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the period 1 July – 30 September 2024.

Following a discussion, the Committee proposed that the National Assembly adopt the abovementioned bills and adopted the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the period 1 July – 30 September 2024.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic, and attended by the following Subcommittee members and deputy members: Radoslav Milojicic, Slobodan Ilic, Dijana Radovic, Jozsef Tobias, Miroslav Aleksic, Milija Miletic, Veroljub Matic, Dejan Bulatovic, Dragan Jovanovic, Dusan Nikezic, Dragan Jonic, Ivana Stamatovic and Zika Gojkovic.
