Eighth Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 10 May 2021, the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee considered the Bill on the Confirmation of the Memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica on Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture, submitted by the Government, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the first quarter of 2021.

The Bill was presented by State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Jelena Blagojevic who said that the Memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica on Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture was signed in Belgrade on 4 February 2019, and it regulates issues of importance for the two countries’ agricultural cooperation. She stressed that the ratification of the bill would stimulate the exchange of scientific and technical information and achievements, as well as the development and introduction of modern technologies. The ratification will put the Memorandum in force.

The Committee members proposed, by majority vote, that the National Assembly accept the abovementioned Bill.

The Committee also considered the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the first quarter of 2021, presented by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Jelena Blagojevic.

She said that seven ordinances decrees and nine rulebooks were passed in the reporting period, as well as the Law on the Confirmation of the Grain Trade Convention. She highlighted the Ministry’s successful bilateral cooperation, evidenced by a series of signed protocols. Speaking of the Rural Development Sector, Blagojevic listed a series of conducted activities, among other things, the preparation of amendments to the Law on Agriculture and Rural Development.

After the ensuing discussion, the Committee members proposed, by majority vote, that the National Assembly adopt the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the first quarter of 2021.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Veroljub Matic, Tijana Davidovac, Zarko Bogatinovic, Milija Miletic, Stanislava Janosevic, Sonja Todorovic, Momir Stojilkovic, Velibor Stanojlovic, Olja Petrovic, Goran Kovacevic, Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac, Diana Radovic, Arpad Fremond and Haji Milorad Stosic.
