Dr Orlic Meets with Azerbaijani PFG with Serbia Delegation

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic met today with the delegation of the Azerbaijani National Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia, headed by Malahat Ibrahimgizi.

Dr Orlic stressed that the visit of the Azerbaijani Parliamentary delegation following shortly in the wake of his official visit to Baku, is yet another confirmation of the friendship between the two countries and the firm foundations jointly laid by presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Ilham Aliyev.

He confirmed Serbia's readiness to continue to cooperate with Azerbaijan in all areas of interest, pointing out that Azerbaijani companies had participated in the construction of the Ruma-Sabac highway, the importance of which is evident the fact that the President of Serbia attended the opening ceremony. "We are looking forward to all joint activities that may follow in the coming period," said Dr Orlic.

Ibrahimgizi said that Azerbaijan is proud of its extremely close and strong relations with Serbia, expressing readiness to continue their dynamic development through the active work of the parliaments, especially at the level of committees and working bodies. In the course of the meeting, she took the opportunity to convey to Speaker Orlic the greetings of Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Prof. Dr Sahiba Gafarova.

The National Assembly Speaker once again thanked Azerbaijan for its support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, which the members of the Azerbaijani Parliamentary delegation affirmed would continue, as well as the advocacy for our country’s positions in international organisations.
