Dragan Stanojevic, Chairman of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, attended the traditional event held for the fourth time in Trento, Republic of Italy, which aims to bring together cultural and artistic associations from all over Europe, as well as preserve and nurture our traditions in the diaspora in the region, on 1 June 2024.
The event was attended by the mayors of Vigolo Vattaro, Caldonazzo, Cagliari, Folgaria, as well as representatives of the Secretariat for Tourism of the Province of Trentino, with the presence of the President of the Assembly of the Province of Trentino, Walter Kaswalder.
Opening the event, the participants were addressed by Djordje Milanovic, president of the Association "Vidovdan" Trentino-Dolomites from Trent; Walter Kaswalder, President of the Assembly of the Province of Trentino and Dragan Stanojevic, Chairman of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.
Stanojevic greeted the participants on behalf of the National Assembly and Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, expressing particular satisfaction with the great response of the participants and emphasising the importance of gathering young people of our diaspora at such manifestations and events because they are the only opportunity, thousands of kilometres away from their motherland, to show that they have not forgotten their roots, traditions and customs.
At the end of the event, for their work and contribution to the strengthening of the Serbian diaspora in the Republic of Italy, the guests were presented with a certificate of appreciation from the Association "Vidovdan" Trentino-Dolomites.
In addition to attending the event, Stanojevic accepted an invitation to meet with local businessmen to discuss the possibilities of deepening economic cooperation and new opportunities for export and import of products and raw materials from the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Italy. On the occasion, at the invitation of Matteo Bortoline, director of the company Sant’Orsola, which deals with the collection and processing of berries, the participants visited the company's cold stores and production facilities and discussed the company's production potential and the possibilities of increasing imports from the Republic of Serbia.
