Brnabic with Presidents of Both Houses of Dutch Parliament: Strengthen Parliamentary Cooperation

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today in The Hague, at the beginning of her visit to the Netherlands, with the President of the House of Representatives Martin Bosma and the President of the Senate Jan Anthonie Bruijn, and after the meeting assessed that the bilateral cooperation is good, but the parliamentary cooperation needs to be strengthened.

“The talks were comprehensive and challenging, but I believe that we should not eschew issues we do not see eye-to-eye on, but that we should have a dialogue so that the views of both sides can be heard”, Brnabic said.

She opined that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries is good, accompanied by a significantly intensified political dialogue.

“We are aware that parliamentary cooperation needs to be strengthened at all levels and we are committed to work on it in the upcoming period”, Brnabic said.

In addition to Speaker Brnabic, the delegation also includes the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marina Ragus, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Chairperson of the European Integration Committee Elvira Kovacs, and the MP and Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Benelux Aleksandar Mirkovic.

A meeting is also planned with members of two committees of the Dutch Parliament, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on European Affairs.
