Belgrade High School Students Visit Assembly

Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Nataša Micic today received at the Assembly a group of Belgrade high school students who were on a visit to the Serbian Parliament organised by CeSID.

Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Nataša Micic today received at the Assembly a group of Belgrade high school students who were on a visit to the Serbian Parliament organised by CeSID.

This visit marks the beginning of the `Government Up Close` programme as set down in the Protocol on Cooperation between the National Assembly and CeSID. The programme provides for, among other things, high school and university students to get acquainted with the work of Serbia's highest legislative body.

Greeting the visiting students, Chairperson Nataša Micic stressed that the youngest voters' acquaintance with the structure and functioning of government would be an incentive for their active participation in the democratic development of society.

After meeting the Assembly's Chairperson, the students were informed about the National Assembly's history; while touring the parliament building, they stopped briefly in the hall where sessions are held, on the assembly hall's gallery, and at the press centre.
