American students visit National Assembly
Members of the European Integrations Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia met a group of American students from the Washington Peace Studies Programme.
Members of the European Integrations Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia met a group of American students from the Washington Peace Studies Programme. The students were addressed first by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, who gave a short explanation of the Serbian Assembly’s guiding principles. Mr Markovic said that this convocation had passed more laws than were adopted over several past years, underlining that all offices in all Serbia’s institutions were now filled, from the President of the Republic of Serbia to local officials.
The students, coming from several US universities, and whose interests centre on peace processes and conflict resolution, were most interested in the Resolution on Joining the European Union, co-operation with the Hague Tribunal and the situation in Kosovo and Metohia.
The meeting was chaired by the chairperson of the European Integrations Committee, Ksenija Milivojevic.
