66th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 3 May, the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues considered the Bill on Military Education, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Defence, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Serbian Armed Forces, Bill on Production and Trade in Weapons and Military Equipment, Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces and Other Defence Forces in Multinational Operations outside of the Republic of Serbia Borders, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Military, Labour and Material Obligations and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Security Information Agency in detail.


The Committee found all 654 of the amendments submitted to the Bill on Military Education to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members also found all 110 of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Defence to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

One of the 162 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Serbian Armed Forces was rejected as incomplete, while the rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia. The Committee also found the amendment submitted to the Bill by the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members found the 333 amendments submitted to the Bill on Production and Trade in Weapons and Military Equipment by the MPs, as well as the one submitted by the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee, to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee found all 58 of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces and Other Defence Forces in Multinational Operations outside of the Republic of Serbia Borders to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members found the 96 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Military, Labour and Material Obligations to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Of the 40 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Security Information Agency, the Committee rejected four as incomplete and found the rest to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Djordje Komlenski and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Aleksandra Majkic, Vesna Markovic, Nedjo Jovanovic, Krsto Janjusevic, Srbislav Filipovic, Jelena Zaric Kovacevic, Petar Petrovic and Milena Corilic.
